Addition of Multi-engine privileges to a Flight Instructor Rating
Pre-entry Requirements
To begin the course for the addition of multi-engine instructional privileges to your Flight Instructor rating you will require:
- Valid Licence with a valid FI(A) rating with the supervisory restriction removed
- Valid Multi-engine piston (land) rating
- Have flown 500 hours flight time as pilot of aeroplanes
- 30 hours multi-engine pilot in command hours prior to commencing the course
The course
To apply for the addition of multi-engine piston privileges to your FI rating, you must have completed the course which includes:
Flying
- 5 hours dual training
- Skill Test with a CAA FIC examiner
Ground School
- 10 hours of groundschool covering all aspects of multi-engine aircraft flight, performance, legal aspects and syllabi
What you can do with your new Rating
Teach ab-initio multi-engine ratings or any other multi-engine training requirements
